Though ECL is a new name, it carries a legacy that dates back to 1893, when Meeder began as a small local greengrocer. Since the mid-20th century, Meeder expanded to exporting fruits and vegetables worldwide, becoming a trusted supplier for shipping companies who value its high quality and customer-first approach. With the addition of dairy, Meeder’s offerings continued to grow.

To better serve the unique demands of the cruise industry, Meeder spun off its logistics operations, creating ECL—a company built for this niche market, standing on its own sea legs, yet fully supported by the expertise and resources of the Meeder Group’s diverse divisions.
